3. Sir William de DUGLAS 3rd Lord of Douglas^3,4 was born about 1174 in Douglasdale , Lanarkshire.^5,6 He died about 1213 in Douglasdale , Lanarkshire.⁷ He was also known as Sir William de DUGLAS Knight of Borg. Will de Dufglas

First Douglas for which written records are available. All previous records were probably lost in the wars of succession. It is known that Douglases resided in the area for many years before 1057. Sir William witnessed charters by King David and Josline Bishop of Glasgow between 1174 and 1199. He held the lands of Glendinning

Sir William de DUGLAS 3rd Lord of Douglas and Margaret de KERDAL had the following children:
