DOUGLAS was born in May 1787 in Culpeper Co., Virginia.227 She signed a will on 5 Aug 1864 in Montgomery Co.

Will of Mary Douglas
In the name of God amen. I Mary Wade of Montgomery County being of sound mind
do make and publish this my last will and Testament hereby revoking all or any
former will or wills. I give and bequeath my slaves now born , or hereafter
to be born, their freedom forever and I desire my executors to remove them to
such non-slave holding state, or country as they may select. They are however
to be hired out by my said executors
formerly until a sufficient sum of money is raised to defray the expenses of
their removal. I trust that in no event will my slaves be required to leave
Virginia until this unhappy war is ended. I devise unto my nephew, Hamilton
D. Wade in fee simple all of my real estate situate with the exception of that
portion lying on the south of the turnpike leading from Christianberg to the
Depot. I devise unto Mrs Carloine Anderson , Mrs Lizzie Jones and my nephew
John T. Wade in fee simple jointly fifteen acres of this land on the south side
of the Turnpike to be taken off the end adjoining the lands of fredrich Kyle
in the direction of Christianburg. The residue of the land, on the south side
of the turnpike is to be sold by my executors and the proceeds applied, under
the direction of Hamilton Wade to the repair of my dwelling house and such of
the out houses as may need repairs. I desire that Miss Juliet and Miss Mary Morrison
shall be permitted, if they desire it to remain on the farm as heretofore and
they shall be entitled to a comfortable support during their lifetime out of
the proceeds off the farm. I give and bequeath unto Miss Juliet Morrison and
to Mary Morrison respectively all of the furniture in the rooms respectively
occupied by them, I give Ten Dollars per year, for ten years, to the Methodist
Minister who may be in charge of the Methodist Church in Christianburg. I give
unto Hamilton D. Wade all the residue of my personal estate not herein deposed
of. I desire that all my just debts be paid and that no inventory or appraisement
be made. Should Hamilton D. Wade die or be killed during this war, I desire that
the Estate devised and bequeathed to him may nephew John T. Wade in fee simple.
I appoint Elided R. Anderson and Hamilton D. Wade executors to this my last
will and Testament. In witness whereof I hereunto set my hand and seal this
3rd day of August 1864.

of slaves when this will goes into effect or rendering the emancipation ineffective
hereafter, then and in that event said negros are to be the property of my nephew

to her death record. Hamilton Wade and Mary Douglas Wade had seven children.
They all died within two weeks of birth. Mary (Polly) DOUGLAS and Dr. George
ANDERSON M.D. were married on 25 Mar 1804 in Botetourt Co., Virginia.230 Dr. George
ANDERSON M.D. (son of Andrew ANDERSON and Margaret CRAWFORD) was born on
4 Sep 1779 in Montgomery Co. Virginia.231
He died on 22 Sep 1818 in Montgomery Co. Virginia.231 Apr]232 Mary

Virginia.233 Hamilton
WADE (son of David L. WADE and Rebecca HIX) was born on 28 May 1789 in Wadesborough,
Anson Co., North Carolina. He died on 2 May 1846 in Montgomery Co.
Virginia. Mary (Polly) DOUGLAS and Hamilton WADE had the following
