210. Benjamin Thomas
DOUGLAS Jr. was born about 1779 in Culpeper Co., Virginia.
He signed a will on 20 Mar 1841 in Bath Co., Virginia.222 Will of Benjamin T. Douglas Jr.
I Benjamin T. Douglas being of perfect mind and memory and knowing that it is
appointed for all men on earth to die do hereby constitute and ordain this my
last will and Testament in the manner and form from following to wit; It is my
desire that my just debts , which is not many, be paid by my Executors as soon
after my death as they may deem prudent the money to be raised by a sale of what
property I may die seized of on a credit of twelve months. the revenue I wish
to put to interest , which interest I wish to be appropriated to the raising
of the following children, sons and daughters of Rachel Windon, to sons Hamilton,
George, Zarilda, Gabriel and John except so much thereof an will vary to Racheal
Windom, Vanessea Douglas, who intermarried with Morton Early thus since become
a widow and to William Galloway each the sum of fifty dollars. I also desire
that a valuable Feather Bed which I deposited with Margaret Morrison be delivered
to Vanessa Early as a donation from me to her. And that my wearing apparel of
every description , be delivered to Racheal Windon for the use of her children.
It is my further desire that this principal that may remain after paying this
before mentioned legal debts be divided equally as they become of age, between
the above named children, that is to say , Hamilton, George, Zarilda, Gaberial
and John. I hereby constitute and appoint my Trusty friend Thomas Lettington
and Hamilton Wade executors of this my last will and Testament working and disannuling
all their former will or wills heretofore by me made in Testimony whereof haveunto
set my hand and affixed my seal this 20th day of March 1841.

This Last Will and Testement of Benjamin T. Douglas, deceased. was presented
in court by Hamilton Wade one of the Executors herein named and known by this
oath of Hugh S. McDonnald and Thomas McDonnald the subscribing witnesses thereto
and ordered to be recorded.

Etchington and Archie C. Mathis are held and firmly bound unto the commonwealth
of
Virginia in this sum of two thousand dollars to this payment whereof will and
hereby to
be made we believe ourselves and each of us on and each of our Heirs, Executors
and
administrators jointly and severally ,finally by whose presents sealed with
our seals this
26th day of Sept. in the year of our Lord 1844 and in the 69th year of the
Commonwealth.
The condition of the above obligation is such that if the above bound Hamilton
Wade
Executor of the last will of Benjamin T. Douglas, deceased does make or cause
to be
made a true and perfect Inventory of all and singular these goods chattels and
credits of
the said deceased which have or shall come to the hand possession or knowledge
of him
the said Hamilton Wade or in the hands or possession of any other person or persons
for
him and the same do make do subscribe or cause to be subscribed into the Circuit
Superior
Court of Law and Chancery for Bath county at such time as he shall be thereunto
required
by the said Court and the same Goods, Chattels and Credits of the said deceased
which at
any time after come to the hands , possession or knowledge of the same Hamilton
Wade
or into the hands or possession or any other person or persons for him do will
and truly
administer according to Law and farther do make a just and true account of his
listings
and doings therein when thereto required by the said Court and also shall will
and truly
pay and deliver all the Legacies contained and specified in the said Testament
as far as the
said Goods, Chattels and Credits will thereunto contained and the Law shall charge
them
this obligation to be void and of us effect or else to remain in full force and
virtue.
